If insurance is paying for the damage - STOP! - Take the time to read this first!

You are not obligated to use any particular shop to obtain repairs. You choose the shop and authorize the repairs.

Most insurance companies will "steer" you to their facility before, or even after you have chosen another shop to repair your vehicle. If you choose a direct repair facility, meaning you take your car to the shop that the insurance company recommends, you are being steered! The insurance company may tell you that it will be easier or quicker for you to use their facility.

Being steered means that the insurance company now controls how your vehicle will be repaired. What this means to you is that your repair may be compromised or inferior! Insurance companies want you to drop off your car for repairs and pick it up, no questions asked. Steering is illegal in many states. Please know that if you choose us to fix your vehicle, we work for you, NOT the insurance company. Please protect yourself and your vehicle. At Decatur Paint & Body Inc., we have protected many customers from steering, ask us how!

Please note: We are happy to work with any and all insurance companies, and have been doing so since we opened our doors for business in 1990. We have well established and working relationships with both big and small insurance companies across the country. We hold the insurance company paying the bill to the highest and most ethical of repair standards. That is, that your vehicle is repaired to pre-loss condition, ensuring that all accident related damage is fixed to the Manufacturer's standards.
